Black screen (black screen of death) upon start up, computer won't run, help?
I got this issue after an unfortunate power cut, the system started up but then restarted again unexpectedly, after that i got this 'black screen of death'. Everytime I start up my computer it ask to enter in 'safe mode', 'safe mode with command prompt' or 'last know configuration settings' or something in that sort.

Put in your windows install disk, restart, set your computer to boot from your dvd drive in the bios, click your language, click startup repair. It will fix your problems and restart your pc.
ReplyDeletecould be a virus, do you have Windows 7??? cuz Win7 has an app that makes a repair disk for you!
ReplyDeleteStart Menu --> Search "System Repair Disc" (without "") and follow the instructions.
Is it possible that there was an update when the power cut took place?
ReplyDeleteIf you have important files back them up (I would use Linux, but Hiren's would work). If the computer can read CDs I would choose an OS an burn it. If you can't read CDs download UNetbootin and create a bootable flash drive with the image of the OS. Boot from the CD/USB and install.
