windows xp64 edition

i just recently installed windows xp64 edition service pak 1 and was just wondering what you all thought of it or if you guys use it? as far as looks it`s the same as windows xp 32 but i did notice that it does seem to be more responsive and faster then 32bit windows. and right now its running all the programs i have installed. the only ones i had a problem with was avg free and comodo firewall and i cant find drivers for my labtec webcam ..... other then that i think its pretty fast stable system imo .... and all my games are working good too. also can anybody tell me how to install service pak 2. i now its like beta or something but people are saying that it helps with alot of problems.

Upgrading XP SP1 to SP2 plus all the horfixes etc problem

PC is still running XP w/SP1 (updates have been turned off since I built it) and I want to upgrade it to SP2 plus all of the<br />security hotfixes (all 10,000 of them)<br /><br />I have tried several of the WGA fixes and none worked for this build. I think they are all aimed at SP2.<br />Also tried the rockxp keychanger to no avail.<br /><br />I even D/Led SP2 from Software Patch and unplugged from net, it still came up with bad key and would not complete..<br /><br />I have backed up all drivers and will back up here settings and PST files.<br /><br />Do NOT want to do a clean install on her system, not worth it.<br /><br />I have a couple of the newer SP2 XP .iso’s that have been posted lately, the BillGays XP and a XP Lite<br /><br />Should I just do a repair on here system with one these and enter the key for these? Then maybe one of the WGA’s would work.<br /><br />Opinions and guidance appreciated.

Xp Keeps freezing up

My computer has been running fine for months until today it started freezing up randomly.<br /><br />Here are the specs :<br /><br />Intel Core 2 Duo 6400 processor<br />1024mb DDR2 667 5300 ram<br />Radeon x1900xtx PciEX graphics card<br />250GB WD Caviar SATA Hard Drive<br />AsRock Dual-VSTA motherboard<br />Windows XP Gamers Edition (Proffesional Corp) SP2<br /><br />And my tested solutions (which failed to show results) :<br /><br />Re-installed windows multiple times<br />Formatted main hard-drive, then reinstalled windows again<br />Started with only core components installed (Mem, graph, keyb, mouse, pro)<br />Disabled un-nessecery windows services<br /><br />The crashes seem to happen randomly, but are triggered almost certainly when I plug in my USB hard-drive, or try copying a file from one hard-drive to another.<br /><br />Safe mode seems to run without any problems...<br /><br />Also, I have the same problem when running Vista (Ultimate Retail)<br /><br />Any ideas of stuff to try?

laptop freezing up only at home though

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with windows xp sp2... At home I have a wireless internet connection (dell fiber optics) and lately my laptop has been acting funny... it will start to lag up REALLY bad and freeze up for about 1-2minutes ... but my ping wouldnt go up though. I figured it was a virus or something so i did some scans and found nothing. I also tested this at my school and my friend's house (also wireless internet connections) and there were no problems at all! Can anyone explain this? I was thinking it may be overheating but I have had this lap top for a little over a year and never experienced these kinda problems.<br /><br />PS- this doesn't only happen when i am playing a game, it happens even if i'm not doing anything on my laptop :\<br /><br />can anyone solve my dilema? I was thinking the laptop was getting too hot but my room isnt THAT hot compared to the other areas i have tried this.

Laggage playing a PC Game

I have Battlefield 2142 in my computer and I have all the necessary things in my computer to play the game. Whenever I am playing Single Player, the game runs smoothly. But when I play multiplayer, it's a glitch fest. My gun will go up and down and all over the place, and when I'm in an action pack fight in a room, I skip all over the place and not even be able to aim my gun straight. I have ASUS P5LD2 VM SE Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz. To sum it up its pretty good and advanced pc that i got.<br /><br />HOWEVER, i have 250 GB SAMSUNG SATA-II<br /><br />SATA - II are said to deliver speeds of upto 300MBPS if not exactly 300MBPS.<br /><br />BUT IN MY PC Transfer from one partition to another doesnt even occur at 100 MBPS. I have abt 60 GB of data that i want to transfer from one partition to another and this simply TAKES AGES. One of my other frnd has same SATA-II and he says he gets speed of more than 250 MBPS (He transfered 10 GB in 40 Seconds).<br /><br />PLS HELP ME!! I recently bought a 120 dollar external DVD burner, works nice. Only thing is the program I'm using, IMGburn, takes an hour and a half to burn a game. I choose to burn at 4x, but then it burns at .7x. And then it takes FOREVER(hour and a half) to burn. Is this normal? If not, what program would you recommend?
