windows boot disc not working

My windows xp is corrupted. I have been using a valid copy of windows xp but I can't find the recovery disc so i downloaded Windows XP Pro Student Edition SP2 and followed the instructions blah blah blah burned it to a dvd using nero but when I try it on the computer nothing happens (I made sure the boot option are all ok in the bios) i even tried using MAGICISO to make a bootable version but still nothing what am I doing wrong?

Deleting Files Permenently

I know there is a way to get your files back after you delete them off you HDD. Now, what I want to know is, if there is a way to COMPLEATLY delete that trace of the files that is left that allows w.e program to get the file back. Keyboard and Mouse Freeze Temporarily

I really need to find a solution for this soon before it drives me insane Mad. My mouse and keyboard keep freezing for a few seconds up to about 15 seconds or more and I can't figure out why. Will Bridging my connection make my internet faster?

I have a modem/router at home which connects me to the internet and that i can also use for lan. It has both ethernet 10/100 and a USB adapter which i use for connect to the internet. Up until recently the ethernet connection was in my PC and the USB was branched out for my sister's laptop if she wanted to use the net. But she sold her laptop so i decided to connect both the USB and the ethernet to my PC, while going through the configurations and setting i saw an option to allow me to bridge the two connections.<br /><br />I was just wondering if anyone here has ever done this, or heard of it and what the result was. Was the internet feaster? Faster D/L or Upload? Do you recommend that i do the same?

Problem Accessing Router Configuration

I recently changed to an ADSL 2+ plan, after getting the router, and installing an ethernet Network Card, the next step is to configure my router. It says i need to access the configuration page by typing in the IP Address provided, i have done alot of modem configuration before with my 512 plan, so i knew what i had to do.<br /><br />But, alas, after all the work, and installing the card, i couldnt access the configuration page. I dont think it reads the IP as mine, i think it thinks im just trying to access some site. It comes up with "Server Unavailable, Unable to Connect". All the lights are on the router, all the wires and stuff are connected.

i have been having a strange prob after upgrading to Vista. I have a few hosted accounts on different servers, which are able to be configured using cpanel login on port 2222. The webby's work perfect, but i cannot get the login box anymore. Before everything worked fine. Now im not a total newb, so i have checked a lot of things already.
