I recently downloaded FlashGet.
I am using it to download .RAR files from Rapidshare. However, whenever they download they are saved as .HTML document files.
Is there anyway to stop this so as the files download properly?

I am experiencing the same thing periodically. All you have to do is change the file extension from .html to .rar. If you're not familiar with changing file extensions, here are some links to get you going:
ReplyDeleteTypically, file extensions are hidden in windows, so you have to unhide them. But I'm assuming that if you can see the .html, you've got your file extensions UNhidden already, but here's some info anyway just in case...
Windows Vista: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/1269/vista_show_unhide_file_extensions
Windows XP:
1.Double-click on My Computer.
2.Click Tools then Folder Options.
3.Click on the View tab.
4.Uncheck "Hide file extensions for known file types"
5.Click Apply then OK.
All you need to do is fill in your username and password into flasget at > Tools > Default Download Properies. It will download automatically without renaming anything.
ReplyDeleteI've installed Vista and when I add links the program STOPS and tells me "FLASHGET STOP WORKING" and ENDS Sad. without downloading anything.
ReplyDeleteSo I don't know if i can return to WinXP... I've never had problems till today (yesterday I installed Vista).
