    I had that little problem suddenly on an Asrock LM2 motherboard it just started for no apparent reason after a few months of working correctly

    the solution turned out to be a bios update for me
    flashed with latest file problem gone

    If programs are doing lots of disk-intensive activity, then the light will be on solid. If there is not that much disk activity, there could be a glitch such as the BIOS mentioned above.
