Where can I find SATA drivers for my HD to install XP
i have two hard disks and both are SATA. now i have windows 7. but if i want to install XP, i have to change bios setting from achi to ide. so is there any place where i can download SATA drivers for my hard disks? my motherboard is Intel dg33fb. and how to install the drivers? normally like a software or any other media? there are many SATA integrated XP CDs, but i dont want that.
"Driver Genius" or "Driver Magician" usually finds the drivers and installs for you.
ReplyDeletei found mine that way.
the SATA integrated XP should be activated later. but i have a corporate version that doesnt needs activation. so...
ReplyDeleteok, i downloaded driver genius, now, I install XP normally, i mean in ACHI mode and then use this software to update the driver? or is there any other way to do it?
Mate...Just go into the bios and change the sata option from ACHI to what ever other available option...You should have no more problem the setup detecting your hard drive..
ReplyDeleteThe sata driver have nothing to do with windows..It's a driver that get integrated to your XP install CD and loads in text mode.
i didnt know that... silly me. i have to change from ACHI to IDE to install XP. I thought installing SATA drivers and using ACHI mode makes the hard disk read/write operation faster than in IDE mode. Am i wrong then?
