How to change/re size hard disk partitions in XP
i know its possible somehow in Win 7 and Vista, but is it possible in XP to shrink one volume and make another volume with that free space?

I know that there's a program called "Partition Magic" that can do this for you.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if there's a safer/better way to doing this.
You can also try a program called Acronis Disk Director, used that a few times for that purpose to great success.

ReplyDeleteAcronis Disk Director and Paragon Partition Manager are both pretty good
they are on Hiren's Boot CD
the only way you can shrink an OS partition is to boot from something other than that partition
You still have to modify both partitions no matter what os you will boot from..Like shrinking one partition and adding the free space to the other...

Your best bet is Hiren's BootCD...
