I have recently made a schedule task in Win98 to shotdown my comp every day, at the same time, if I forget to do it.
Since then, there is an icon of the task in the notification area (besides the clock).
Can I remove the icon from the area, without stoping the scheduled task?
It is in Win98.

You can try this...It works with XP...Not sure about Win98..
ReplyDeleteClick Start, click Run, type regedit, and then press ENTER.
Navigate to the following subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
Right-click the right pane, create a new DWORD value, and then name it EnableBalloonTips.
Double-click this new entry, and then give it a hexadecimal value of 0.
Quit Registry Editor. Log off Windows, and then log back on.
