I've found a site where all the known antivirus programs are tested.

It's a Dutch site, but the image is English so you can understand it.

The best security softwares out there are:

Avira AntiVir + COMODO Firewall + SuperAntiSpyware + MalwareBytes = Total and the best in protection with the least system impact.

Avira currently has the best detection engine among antiviruses according to an independent antivirus tester, AV-Comparatives. It also has one of the fastest scanning rates with the least memory consumption.

The free version of Avira will do for most. But if its for business, you'll have to purchase the premium version.

COMODO firewall is on top of Matousec's (independent firewall tester) results and it has been there for quite sometime. It is an excellent firewall with low resource usage. Plus, its free.

SuperAntiSpyware and MalwareBytes capture what Avira missed (highly unlikely) or falls outside Avira's detection categories (like tracking cookies etc.) and its free too.

I've switched over from NOD32 + ZoneAlarm to the above combo recently, and I have been a happy convert ever since.

    Hope this helps. Cheers! Smile

PS: The reason why I suggested four different softwares instead of a single security suite is because of one reason.

If that single security suite fails, your whole PC becomes vulnerable, your security comes crashing down.
But by using different softwares for different purposes, you are minimising that risk.

  5. Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 version 9.0.0.736 is the best.
