The manual says 2x512mb of ram max. Can I put in 2x1gig modules and get 2 gigs of ram max? Confused
I have seen another laptop (macintosh wallstreet) with a max ram of 256mb (listed in the manual as maximum ram allowed) and later I bought 2x512 mb ram chips for it and it worked! Very Happy
Does anyone have experience with my model laptop and 2gigs of ram (compact presario 1516us , pentium 4, 32meg of video ram, 30gig HD)?

Says on Compaq that you can go up to 1GB. I don't recommend going over because I think the motherboard might not support an excess amount, based on the config Compaq has.
