I got a DELL laptop with Vista pre-installed. I have installed Windows 7 later on.
Kaspersky found a possible keylogger on Win7 partition.
Anyway I want to completely wipe out my HDD and install windows 7 only. Think I'm gonna use Hirens Boot CD for it.
I don't intent to use Vista again, ever. So I think I'm gonna wipe out everything on the HDD including OEM and recovery partition. How about boot sector?
How about HDD password? Isn't DELL using such password?

Since your installing Windows 7, just use the same disk. During installation, play around with the settings during which it asks you to install to a partition, if I remember correctly, there was a advanced option button or similar.
ReplyDeleteWhen you click that, it should be obvious which button you use to delete each partition, delete them all and create one partition. Although Windows 7 might create its own recovery partition.
