duz the progie ID it as that

    how many sticks ?
some mobos need 2 sticks to give max DDR rate

is there a setting in the bios for ram speed ?

ddr means double data rate so the progie may be giving ½ the total rate

what progie did you use to test ? look in appz section for "sisoft sandra", thats the granddaddy

check you manual under ram to see if there are config specs

on my p5b, p4p & p5p asus mobos I had to have 2 sticks to get full rate

It could be your processor only as a fsb of 333 not 400 so this will underclock your RAM to 333....Though on most cases the RAM usually overclocks the processor.

Go into your BIOS and find the FSB ratio and make sure its set on 10 x 200 which will give you 400mhz.

If you don't know where this is then look in your motherboad manual it will show you in there how to change the fsb ratio.

I think that's as high as it will go
    I read your manual

    1.7.2 Memory configurations

You may install 64MB,128 MB, 256 MB, 512 MB, and 1 GB DDR DIMMs
into identical (the same type and size) DDR DIMM pairs for each channel.

    • Always install DIMMs with the same CAS latency. For optimum
compatability, it is recommended that you obtain memory modules
    from the same vendor.

so to get the DDR rate you need 2 sticks the same !
