I downloaded a game .
But the problem is that I don't exactly have admin privileges.
SO I extract the game files, not install them.
I extracted the iso and there is a huge file called 'data2.cab', which I presume contains most of the game data.
I can't open it with WinRAR. Is there any proggie to open this and extract the data within?
Other .cab files such as 'data1.cab' and 'engine32.cab' also don't open.

I got the message that your data1.cab file is an unknown format - encrypted?. Thats with WinRar, WinAce and 7-zip.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you've thought of this, but if its a standalone pc, you can find the admin password using eg Elcomsoft and when no-one's around use the proper installers for your game.
So, if you're on a network and the admin accounts are all central/remote, you'd best tell us what are the restrictions they've imposed, which o.s....... oh and just how brave/desperate you are.
Have you tried installing it to my documents rather than prog files?
ReplyDeleteIf the PC is bang upto date with DirectX etc, and the install is for this user only, you can often get/start to get around the administrator restrictions. Yes over-simplistic, but all that matters is you get my drift.
