    you will need to re-encode video(avi's) to trim(crop) parts u don't want
600x338 will become 450x338 trimming about 75 pixels form each side

in 16:9 take your width and divide by .75 to get new width

I selected 4:3 and it still comes out wide screen. Here is exactly what i do. I open nero vision 4. Click Make DVD then DVD-VIDEO. I click add video files and add the correct file. For instance the Eragon AVI file. Then Next. I turn off the menu option. Then i have my video options set to the same as the above picture as in a previous post. The only difference is i have it set to High Quality(2-Pass VBR). Then I dont burn it to disc at first, I create a ISO with the Image recorder. After it is done, I burn it to dvd using nero burning-rom. It still comes out wide screen. Im about to give up. All help is appriciated and if u could keep helping that would be great!

the avi file that you have downloaded is in wide screen format, for example eragon which you have mentioned. Irrespective if you set aspect ratio to 4:3 or 16:9 or automatic it is still going to burn this in widescreen format. If you set aspect ratio to 4:3 it will burn to 4:3 but in letterbox mode ie black line top and bottom. Its basically all down to the format your avi file is, this is what dictates the format for the burn, not settings. Otherwise the movie would be distorted . If you want full screen then you are going to have to crop the avi using a suitable software (try Procoder2 - can be found in appz section) or download full screen rips only, and they are alot harder to come by these days.
