Keyboard and Mouse Freeze Temporarily
I really need to find a solution for this soon before it drives me insane Mad. My mouse and keyboard keep freezing for a few seconds up to about 15 seconds or more and I can't figure out why. It sucks because it freezes when typing and playing games, more so when playing games though and is really messing up my playing in Counter Strike. I've tried to update all my drivers, but I can't find any new ones and don't understand what is happening and why all of a sudden,

They come back on again after the time I said above, the PC doesn't freeze. As for Ctrl-Alt-Del working, I can't use it because the keyboard it frozen and just doesn't react to anything I do with it. Also, I haven't noticed the Hard Drive light freezing, although I will look out for it and see. The thing is though, I've closed everything apart from System processes and AVG and Zone Alarms when I'm playing Counter Strike, so I don't see what could be affecting it.

I have both ATI tools for my GPU temperature installed so I monitor that, and also ASUS Probe for my CPU and Motherboard, so I can monitor those too. I reckon WMP could be the culprit because I use WMP 11 and it can use quite a bit of resources and also when playing songs, I've noticed it sort of skipping a little and various other things making me thing when it stumbles it's using resources and may be freezing my input. I closed it and used BS player for the music instead, and it never froze all night. And the GPU temperature after cleaning went down around 2-4 degrees anyway so I doubt that affected it.
ReplyDeleteEdit: I'm going to look into some extra cooling soon anyway, because I have a bit of money from Christmas, and it would help definitely.
