My windows xp is corrupted. I have been using a valid copy of windows xp but I can't find the recovery disc so i downloaded Windows XP Pro Student Edition SP2 and followed the instructions blah blah blah burned it to a dvd using nero but when I try it on the computer nothing happens (I made sure the boot option are all ok in the bios) i even tried using MAGICISO to make a bootable version but still nothing what am I doing wrong?

    try burning @ a lower rate, 4x or 8x
some OS iso's are finiky about burning @ full rate
worked for me a couple o' times

do you have another bootable disk to test CD booting ?

also make sure there is not any junk/dust on the written side of the disk. i agree that alower burn rate usually does the trick for os.

Had a little problem with \system32\hal.dll but i fixed that with
    Attrib -H -R -S C:\Boot.ini
    DEL C:\Boot.ini
    BootCfg /Rebuild
    Fixboot

    So All Is Well FIXED!
