i have a 250gb hard drive. I created a 20gb partition for Vista using Norton Partition Magic. I am dual booting Vista and XP. What is the best way to get Vista of my machine as i do not want to use it anymore. When i start the comp up i choose between Windows Vista and Earlier Version of Windows.

I think vista takes over boot control so you need to change that

I have a VERY simple way of doing it, that doesn't require you to enter the recovery console or anything like that. And trust me, it works, I used it myself.

    1. Boot your computer in to Windows XP.

    2. Ensure you have the Vista DVD image emulated or in the DVD drive.

    3. Go to “Start” and “Run”. Type in “e:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt52 ALL /force” (without quotes, and replacing e: with the drive letter of your Vista DVD).

    4. Restart the computer, and you will notice the boot selection menu is gone.

And if you haven't already done it, delete/format the partition where Vista was. This won't work if your Vista disc is 64-bit and your XP is 32-bit, but it should otherwise.
