Torrents might be slow because of Seeders (People uploading to you), if theres alot of leechers (downloaders) then you wont get alot of speed.
Private Torrent Trackers are best because there are less leechers and more uploaders.

    that's the perfect explanaiton...so let's see:

    1. there are a lot of leechers:why?they are called so because they do NOT upload...and probably there is a reason 4 that too:the copyright guys often look at torrents and if they see nods or supernods(a.k.a seeders / superseeders),those would be the target to be sueded...so less upload, less chances to have police behind your door.MPPA and RIAA can find out where you live easily by finding your IP.dunno which software...bitlord or utorrent shows your IP and that's bad cuz you can be targeted by a no-life guy and get your hdd erased in the best case scenario.

    2. depends from soft to soft, some say utorrent is faster or bitlord.it's good to compare those...i think utorrent is faster that bitcomet.

    3. ofc there are torrents that are very fast,i had a few times my full bandwidth used by a torrent (1.5mbs/sec)
