I use a bt voyager 205 router and its supposed to have an inbuilt firewall. I also run Sygate pro firewall.
My question is, do I need to run Sygate aswell?

I am not really a techy type but I've been told to only use one anti-virus program and one firewall program. This way, your computer does not run slowly.
ReplyDeletePlease wait for more responses though so you can receive a better answer than this one
run Sygate pro firewall, i dont think ur router can monitor incoming and out going connections, and its good to have a hardware firewall and a software one too
ReplyDeleteThe reason I ask mostly is because when I connect through a modem sygate is continuoslly busy blocking this and that but when connected through the router it just sits there idle, in the last week sygate has not blocked a single thing, hence my wonderring whether it is neccessary to have it running.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll just leave it running then, it cant do any harm eh.
