windows xp64 edition
i just recently installed windows xp64 edition service pak 1 and was just wondering what you all thought of it or if you guys use it? as far as looks it`s the same as windows xp 32 but i did notice that it does seem to be more responsive and faster then 32bit windows. and right now its running all the programs i have installed. the only ones i had a problem with was avg free and comodo firewall and i cant find drivers for my labtec webcam ..... other then that i think its pretty fast stable system imo .... and all my games are working good too. also can anybody tell me how to install service pak 2. i now its like beta or something but people are saying that it helps with alot of problems.
in order for anyone to answer they would have to install and/or tested both versions. my guess is that 98% of those answering have NOT tested both versions, and the poll is thus useless.
ReplyDeletewith regard to x64 over x32 the question should therefore be: 1) have you tested both versions? (yes/no) , 2) if so, which do you prefer? (A/B).
for anyone to run the x64 there has to/is suppose to be a spesific need for it. from your post i understand that you have installed x64 urself on your puter and have been looking for improvements. and as i would have told you if you asked before installing, you cant really see any difference. if any, they are probably beacuse you have a 'clean' install with few or none proggies installed.
for 'normal' use (including program developers, designers and what have you) the x32 version is the one to use. the x64 version is for powerusers running workstations with complex proggies that requires lots of memory (x32 has a limit of 4GB - x64 tops that).
my advice (and its up to you): if you dont have a clue as to what you are doing, uninstall x64 and go back to x32 - or even the new Vista
