I just set up a new pc with the latest codec packs, now when I play any .avi files with AC3 audio the sound is very low, my PC only has a stereo plug.

all my other pc which only have stereo plug playes all my .avi files with ac3 audio find.
I forget what it is that I did in order for the sound from .avi files with AC3 audio to play with normal volume.

its as if there talking but there sound is being send to a channell for 5.1 audio which i dont have. I have only stereo plugs not 5.1 audio.

    installed ac3filter which came with Klite Codec pack.
    go to ac3filter, after it opens click Mixer - then find Options at the botton and place a chek/tic in Auto Gain Control and another in Auto Metrix, leaving the other boxes clear.
