Last year i bought a computer (INTEL CORE 2 DUO E6600 | GEIL ULTRA DIMM 2GB DDR2-667 KIT | MSI P965 NEO F | SAPPHIRE RX1600XT 256MDD3 | NEC DVD+/R/W ND-3570/GNB 16X BLACK | Maxtor MaXLine III 250 GB | ThermalTake Power Stackable 500W | ThermalTake Shark Black).
Everything was fine until i decided to try the dvd burner.
Is burning-reading CD and DVD at a very slow speed (it takes 1 hour for it to burn a full dvd)
I tried everything i could to fix it. I updated the firmware and tried to change the mode from PIO to UDMA but it won't change!!!

"Is burning-reading CD and DVD at a very slow speed (it takes 1 hour for it to burn a full dvd)"
ReplyDeleteIt could be many things -- more than likely your blank media -- but it could be something like you have a system
with a single physical HDD and it is fragmented. Like I said there are many things.
I would go to CDFreaks.com and CDRlabs.com and look up your drive.
"tried to change the mode from PIO to UDMA but it won't change!!!"
That is because you CANNOT CHANGE from PIO to UDMA -- You can only Un-install the IDE Channel (in Device Manager) that contains your
burner and re-boot -- WinXP will re-install the IDE Channel and you should have UDMA available.
This however will NOT solve your problem. You can start out at UDMA4 but as WinXP starts getting errors it will reduce
you to UDMA3 and then to UDMA 2 until you get back to PIO.
So you have got to fix your problem -- could be a bad cable or a bad burner or a bad HDD.
