Yes this is normal in DVD copying. Please remember there is a way to minimize this problem. That is when u always burn a movie or a music on to a DVD u should burn it at max 10X Speed. This minimizes the "Buffer Under run" issue and prevents in overlapping of copied data in the same cluster of the disk.
