    C, TS, DVDScr, DVDrip tells you the quality.

    VCD, SVCD, DVD-R, DivX/XviD tell you the format.

    it depends on which format the ripper wants to use. the most popular now seems to be xvid but there a quite a few vcd and svcd.

    XviD is slowly moving out of the Scene.....H264/x264 is the new codec and format which is being used nowadays.......
