I downloaded a game .<br />But the problem is that I don't exactly have admin privileges.<br />SO I extract the game files, not install them.<br /><br />I extracted the iso and there is a huge file called 'data2.cab', which I presume contains most of the game data.<br />I can't open it with WinRAR. Is there any proggie to open this and extract the data within?<br />Other .cab files such as 'data1.cab' and 'engine32.cab' also don't open.

I'm using the 3.40 firmware , However whenever i try to run any homebrews ( by copying them into the /PSP/Game dir ) i get a "This game cannot be started" 8002014C error , I search around and tried creating a GAME150 folder and copying them into there but when i load up the psp i cant seem to get into the GAME150 folder , It does not show anything there no matter where i go?

Sony vegas wont uninstall or accept key

My son installed the trial version of Vegas 7.0 it asked for the serial number, we don't have one, so I tried to uninstall vegas 7.0 and it says the key not found and won't uninstall, so I tried to use my purchased version of Vegas Movie Studio 6.0 and it now asks for the serial, after putting in the serial click next and the serial number highlights, the program goes no further. Nether program will uninstall both say "Key Not Found", I tried to reinstall Vegas Movie Studio 6.0 from the CD and it says that I need to uninsal the newer version first. Is there an uninstall utility for these programs? This has created a great problem for me as I have a video project due in less than a week. I have also tried to use Advanced uninstaller 2006 and again I get the same responce "Key not found" I sent this message to sony.<br /><br />There responce was:<br />"To ensure that you get a proper installation of your software onto your system, we would ask that you un-install all of your Sony Media Software and older Sonic Foundry software. Do this from the Windows Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs Menu."<br /><br />I cant remove the programs this way, the uninsaller is looking for a key and the program wont accept the key.

I booted up my computer and I started up a game, and when I went to type my name in, but nothing came up. So I thought it was a glitch so I restarted and tried again. Still nothing. So I tryed using a notepad. That didn't work either. Does anyone know how to get it to work? I download Employee Of The Month, its a real DVD clone.<br /><br />I was extracting, and on 83% it sed 'Error' and a box came up asking me to find part 81.<br />I located it and it popped up again so im not sure what to do. i searched the internet but couldn't find a working solution to an, almost same, problem of what i have.<br /><br />When i try to type text in photoshop cs2, you see the normal actions.. but the text i type in is freaking tiny. When i put the font size on 1200 pt it'll be like 12 pt and ugly (pixel-like). i don't have a f**king clue what it could be and how i can solve this...<br /><br />I've already tried to delete my fonts and reinstall them, reinstall photoshop or, indeed, restart my computer.<br />I have no Dr. Eye which some forums say you have to remove and don't have anti-spam appz on my pc which could be the cause of the problem too.<br /><br />i'm going *like* crazy of this. CHKDSK problem

I got a really annoying problem!! My 120GB HDD has got 3 partitions:<br />C: (10GBs - FAT32)<br />D: (30GBS - FAT32)<br />E: (80GBS - NTFS)<br /><br />Now the problem is whenever Windows boots up, the CHKDSK runs for E:<br /><br />I allowed it to complete the 1st time I saw it; but when I restarted the CHKDSK again appeared and that too only for E:!!! Help regarding GTA San Andreas

I am trying to play GTA San Andreas on my MacBook but I keep getting problems. First, when I played it was beautiful with the highest resolution. My MacBook has the Intel GMA 950 and 512MB RAM with Core Duo 2.0Ghz. Then suddenly it was slowing down in a way. At the highest resolution CJ moved slowly and the whole framerate also slowed. So I set it to a lower setting. Now the framerate (meaning the allround movement) is better but when I pressed "Move Forward (W Key) for 2 seconds or more, CJ would start walking but wouldnt stop even if I let go. He would walk for sometime and then only would he stop. This makes it a problem when driving coz when I press W, the car goes on accelerating and hits people and the surrounding houses. Similarly when reversing. Confused So I guessed it was a problem with the Graphics so I downloaded and installed the latest Intel GMA950 drivers and restarted and it was playing beautifully at the highest resolution again. Hurray. I played like this for 1 and a half day. Very Happy<br />Then I ran into the mission of setting some house on fire with Molotov Chocktail mission and when I went inside to save the girl, the framerates slowed so I set it to a lower setting until I saved the girl and after finishing, I returned it to the original Highest setting but now it was like before and was slowing down Evil or Very Mad . Even when I set the lowest settings, CJ would run even after I had let go of the run button. And the driving was horrific. So now I cant play the game anymore Crying or Very sad . Please help. I love this game.

Right, i finally found a working copy of the classic constructor.<br /><br />Now, im having problems running the game. Im aware there are compatability issues with this game and xp.<br /><br />When i try to launch the game, the screen goes black, it makes that windows error message noise, then a few pixels in various colours show. I have to ctrl+alt+del out becuz i cant alt+tab out.<br /><br />Anyone know of a way around for this?? I really want to play this game.<br /><br />I was thinkin of installing windows 95 on my second hard drive, but i dont wonna ~censored~ up my computer<br /><br />Let me know<br /><br />Thanks

Recently I've been having real trouble with my msn - I have the most recent live messenger version, although I had the same trouble before I updated it.<br />My problem is that it randomly signs me in and out, and I sometimes don't receive messages people have sent me, and they sometimes don't get mine. I've tried updating my version and reinstalling it, but neither worked. I've run both my anti-viruses, and nothing came up. It's not my internet connection, because even when I'm sitting right beside my router it still does it. On other computers it works. Any ideas would be really appreciated.

160 gb Hard Drive Problem

I bought a 160gb hard drive recently, and when I attempt to install it into my computer, it just doesnt work.<br /><br />The model is "Seagate Barracuda 160gb ATA100 7200RPM, 8MB 8.5MS Hard Drive OEM"<br /><br />I have made sure the jumpers are switched into their place.<br /><br />Alright... Now for the stupid part of the whole thing.<br /><br />I put it in where I had a second 40gb hard drive (I had a 40gb w/ windows, and a 40gb with random stuff) I removed the second drive, and the IDE cable was black, the Windows XP one had a white cable. Now I just popped in the 160 gig hdd. Booted up, and it said that there was no boot sector, so I took it out, and tried booting, it worked fine.<br /><br />So I put the Hard drive in the WHITE spot instead of the black spot. It then booted, and once windows started, it said "HDD Detected" etc etc. So when I went to Explorer, it wasn't there... I checked hardware manager, and it says some random numbers (usually it says the brand etc) and when I properties it, i get "GenDrive" in vendor etc. And it doesn't report it as anything (no serial num etc)<br /><br />So at the moment I have it completely unplugged, but its in the computer. I have a theory that its my cables that are only ATA66 or w/e it is.<br /><br />Specs<br /><br />Pentium 4 2.8GHz<br />Sapphire x1600 Pro<br />1gb Kingston RAM (2x512)<br />Soundblaster Audigy<br />Two DVD Drives, one DVD and the other DVD writer<br />One IDE Hard drive, 40gb (not sure if its ATA66 or ATA100)<br />ECS P4S5A<br /><br />Googling my Mobo shows it does support ATA100, so it SHOULD work. I installed Windows Vista on my spare HDD (HDD2) and recently bought another HDD(HDD3). I transfered all my files from HDD2(As this was my data drive and i installed Vista on this because i didn't wan't to mess up HDD1) to HDD3. I then formatted HDD2 however i still get the windows vista boot screen and it asks me to choose between "An Older Version of Microsoft" or "Windows Vista". I just want to boot into XP. How do i remove this boot screen as it is very annoying and was the whole reason i formatted HDD2. I tested it by clicking ok but it said that a system file is missing(confirming that it was formatted).

Defragmentation or not?

I have a MAXTOR 80GB (7200 8MB) Harddisc which is quite old (about 3.5 years).<br />I'm getting to the point that I'm not sure defragmentation would help or not. From what I've heard (after extensive reading) defragmenting could bring more damage to an old hardware. I download about 20 gbs a month. I delete a lot using Ccleaner and use Windows Disk Defragmenter.<br />Last time I defragmented the harddrive was about 3 months ago and I think I should do it again quite soon.<br />What do you think?<br />1. Is defragmenting important?<br />2. Should I defragment?<br />3. Isn't it "dangerous"?<br />4. Is there a software that minimizes the dangers of defragmentaion?

Acronis wants me to create a System Information File (*.NFO);<br />Open Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information; then send it to them.<br /><br />I took a quick look at that file... It's huge and revealing. I have been using a valid copy of windows xp but I can't find the recovery disc so i downloaded Windows XP Pro Student Edition SP2 and followed the instructions blah blah blah burned it to a dvd using nero but when I try it on the computer nothing happens (I made sure the boot option are all ok in the bios) i even tried using MAGICISO to make a bootable version but still nothing what am I doing wrong?

I have a modem/router at home which connects me to the internet and that i can also use for lan. It has both ethernet 10/100 and a USB adapter which i use for connect to the internet. Up until recently the ethernet connection was in my PC and the USB was branched out for my sister's laptop if she wanted to use the net. Problem Accessing Router Configuration

I recently changed to an ADSL 2+ plan, after getting the router, and installing an ethernet Network Card, the next step is to configure my router. It says i need to access the configuration page by typing in the IP Address provided, i have done alot of modem configuration before with my 512 plan, so i knew what i had to do.<br /><br />But, alas, after all the work, and installing the card, i couldnt access the configuration page. I dont think it reads the IP as mine, i think it thinks im just trying to access some site. It comes up with "Server Unavailable, Unable to Connect". All the lights are on the router, all the wires and stuff are connected.

i have been having a strange prob after upgrading to Vista. I have a few hosted accounts on different servers, which are able to be configured using cpanel login on port 2222. The webby's work perfect, but i cannot get the login box anymore. Before everything worked fine. Now im not a total newb, so i have checked a lot of things already. Firewall settings (soft & hard), spyware crap, rootkits, well everything thats in my possibilities really. Anyone has the same problem encountered and might possibly have a solution ?

what i did: main folder had four sub-folders, and each in turn had a number of videos in them. i compressed the main folder, clicked the tab which asked how big the archives should be (in this case i used less than 100 megs for rapidshare). what i got was 20 separate rar files dependant on each other for extraction. i kind of expected that.<br /><br />what i wanted: each video to be in a separate rar file, sort of<br /><br />what i didn't want: was to baby sit the thing, and click on each individual video<br />for compressing.<br /><br />what i need: are there settings for compressing from multiple folders so that each video will be in it's own archive, or will have to go the one-by-one route?

Hopefully this hasn't been asked already but I was wondering why a file can sound great on my PC but when it is put to CD it skips and makes hisses. Is it because of say rapidshare or does this happen because of the person uploading it? Is there a technique like 192 kbps does it and 320 kbps doesn't? I'm confused please help. Main window (fullscreen) problems with Windows XP

My windows has this slight (strange) bug or something that is really starting to irritate me. Since a couple of days every 2/3 minutes it excludes the main window to nothing, kinda hard to explain but whenever I'm at anywhere with Windows, like for example, this page posting a message, if I take to long the page is not selected anymore, I am still at same page and see all is the same, except it's not selected anymore and I have to click/select the page again to continue typing.<br /><br />Also with watching clips/movies etc. this problem occures, with WMP 11 and Classic Media Player whenever I have had Fullscreen mode for a couple of minutes it will go out of it to the main Player window.<br /><br />Practically everything (screensaver/slideshow with photos) that is fullscreen has this problem after a couple of minutes.<br /><br />Anybody have any suggestions to what problem I'm having (with solutions)?

Converting movies into real player format

Playstation 2 Problem

I have a problem with my 6 year old PS2...It recently started to refuse to play the games I downloaded from the internet.<br /><br />When I insert the DVD it does not recognize it. Then I press browser in PS2 menu, it says "reading disc" I wait for a while and it either does not recognize the disc and spins madly or it gives the message "disc read error".<br /><br />It plays the originals and some of the games perfectly well. For example I have downloaded:<br /><br />Gundam SEED OMNI vs ZAFT 2 Plus (Works perfectly after 3rd DVD Copy)<br />Gundam vs Zeta Gundam (Works perfectly well)<br />Metal Gear 3 Subsistence DVD 3 Existence (Works perfectly well)<br />God of War II Demo (Managed to played only once)<br />Metal Gear 3 Subsistence DVD 2 Persistence (Does not work at all)<br /><br />I use brand DVD + discs (Philips)<br />And burn them in the lowest speed using Alcohol 120 %...<br /><br />Please tell me a way to make them work I'm going crazy here

What can I still use in W98SE?

My new PC (that is Windows XP) is running fine, largely due to some great programs I downloaded from the board. But now I start to get irritated a bit with my older PC that is still in use in my house, mainly for internet.<br />This PC has Windows 98SE, with good old WinOnCD 3.7 as a burning program (that came with my burner, and only now I understand this is a stripped version). My firewall is ZoneAlarm Pro 6.1.737.000, which I evaluate through a friend. Because I understand that my regular crashes (the file tvdebug.log causes this 2 or 3 times a day) come from my present version of ZoneAlarm, I want a newer one.<br />I wanted to install Nero 7.5.9.0 and ZoneAlarm Pro 7.322.000 I downloaded here, but both of these do not run on W98SE.<br />Can you help me by telling me which are the latest versions of both Nero and ZoneAlarm that work with W98SE?<br />Thank you for your kind help.

The motherboard has 4 usb connectors on its self.Then i have the option of plugging in an usb etension to the motherboard,so i can have another 2 ports.<br /><br />and i have a usb stick and a mobile phone that connects with usb.<br /><br />The problem is :<br /><br />1)the usb works great what ever i connect directly to the usb port on the motherboard.<br />2)i have a usb extenstion cable(1.5 meters),and if this is connected to the usb port on the motherboard,windows says it does not recognize the device.<br />3)if i connect either the device or use a usb extension cable from the usb that i plugged into the motherboard,so i can have extra ports,nothing works.<br /><br />is my problem compatibleity?i mean like does the usb cable have to be usb 2?i do not know what the cable is(usb 1 or usb 2).and i dont know what the usb extention i used to plug in the motherboard is(its kind of old).<br /><br />Generally i would like to ask,do i need to buy guaranteed usb 2 cable and plug(for the motherboard) for everthing to work fine?

Problem Booting Windows

I'm not sure where to start with describing the problem I'm having with my PC, I guess I'll start with what the current state is:<br /><br />At the moment when I try to start my PC, the "Safe Mode" dialouge appears but whichever option I choose to start Windows the same error occours, Windows begins to start but then I am zapped with a blue screen error (unmountable boot volume) and the computer reboots, resulting in the same process beginning again.<br /><br />As to the cause of this problem, well it's all my own fault. I changed the mhz settings on my monitor from 50 to 60 and the the screen became unviewable, I reset the computer so many times that it resulted in the Safe Mode screen coming up when Windows stars.<br /><br />Is this problem fixable or will I have to bring the computer to someone who knows more than me? This isn't an easy task because I live in a rather small town in France and my French isn't good enough to explain all of this.<br /><br />I should also mention that my cd drive is broken also and I have no floppy disk drive.

.avi file with AC3 audio playback with very low sound

I just set up a new pc with the latest codec packs, now when I play any .avi files with AC3 audio the sound is very low, my PC only has a stereo plug.<br /><br />all my other pc which only have stereo plug playes all my .avi files with ac3 audio find.<br />I forget what it is that I did in order for the sound from .avi files with AC3 audio to play with normal volume.<br /><br />its as if there talking but there sound is being send to a channell for 5.1 audio which i dont have. i just recently installed windows xp64 edition service pak 1 and was just wondering what you all thought of it or if you guys use it? as far as looks it`s the same as windows xp 32 but i did notice that it does seem to be more responsive and faster then 32bit windows. and right now its running all the programs i have installed. the only ones i had a problem with was avg free and comodo firewall and i cant find drivers for my labtec webcam ..... other then that i think its pretty fast stable system imo .... and all my games are working good too. also can anybody tell me how to install service pak 2. i now its like beta or something but people are saying that it helps with alot of problems.

Upgrading XP SP1 to SP2 plus all the horfixes etc problem

PC is still running XP w/SP1 (updates have been turned off since I built it) and I want to upgrade it to SP2 plus all of the<br />security hotfixes (all 10,000 of them)<br /><br />I have tried several of the WGA fixes and none worked for this build. I think they are all aimed at SP2.<br />Also tried the rockxp keychanger to no avail.<br /><br />I even D/Led SP2 from Software Patch and unplugged from net, it still came up with bad key and would not complete..<br /><br />I have backed up all drivers and will back up here settings and PST files.<br /><br />Do NOT want to do a clean install on her system, not worth it.<br /><br />I have a couple of the newer SP2 XP .iso’s that have been posted lately, the BillGays XP and a XP Lite<br /><br />Should I just do a repair on here system with one these and enter the key for these? Then maybe one of the WGA’s would work.<br /><br />Opinions and guidance appreciated.

Xp Keeps freezing up

laptop freezing up only at home though

I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with windows xp sp2... At home I have a wireless internet connection (dell fiber optics) and lately my laptop has been acting funny... it will start to lag up REALLY bad and freeze up for about 1-2minutes ... but my ping wouldnt go up though. I figured it was a virus or something so i did some scans and found nothing. I also tested this at my school and my friend's house (also wireless internet connections) and there were no problems at all! Can anyone explain this? I was thinking it may be overheating but I have had this lap top for a little over a year and never experienced these kinda problems.<br /><br />PS- this doesn't only happen when i am playing a game, it happens even if i'm not doing anything on my laptop :\<br /><br />can anyone solve my dilema? I have Battlefield 2142 in my computer and I have all the necessary things in my computer to play the game. Whenever I am playing Single Player, the game runs smoothly. But when I play multiplayer, it's a glitch fest. My gun will go up and down and all over the place, and when I'm in an action pack fight in a room, I skip all over the place and not even be able to aim my gun straight. Recommended DVD burning program?

I recently bought a 120 dollar external DVD burner, works nice. Only thing is the program I'm using, IMGburn, takes an hour and a half to burn a game. I choose to burn at 4x, but then it burns at .7x. And then it takes FOREVER(hour and a half) to burn. Is this normal? If not, what program would you recommend?

Windows Live Messenger 8.1 on Vista

hey guys i have a somewhat large problem ...<br /><br />okai im running windows vista ultimate<br /><br />my hardware specs are as follows acer aspire 5102MCE<br />1gb memory<br />X1300 ATI mobile Radeon<br /><br /><br />okai the problem is i have just loaded windows vista onto my laptop<br /><br />and everything was fine till i decided i wanted windows live messenger<br /><br />so i installed it everything was fine for about 5 mins then msn froze up<br /><br />and crashed windows media player with it ... now i have tryed a few times to reinstall messenger buh the process for messenger is frozen from each restart so i seem to not be able to load messenger at all<br />i click the icon and nothing happens except there are many msnmsgr.exe

I recently decided I'd rather play my 360 on my PC monitor than the old blurry television I have in my room. My video card (ATI Radeon 9800 Pro All-in-Wonder) has terrible software (ATI's Media Center apps.) I recently downloaded a game(resident evil 3) in some console game topic and it contained a eboot.pbp and Keys.bin file.<br />After some search i found out that .pbp could be opened with phpunpacker.<br />But now i have more files that I have no idea what to do with it, does anyone know something about those files.<br />I think it has something to do with PSP but Resident Evil 3 is PS1 game.

i have an .avi of the Fifth Element (DVD Rip) and i want to convert it to DVD Format. The ~censored~ problem is that when i try to add files to my DVD Converter (which is Allok AVI DivX MPEG to DVD Converter), it says "unsupported file type" or "corrupted file" (But It's not corrupted!!)I have tried many other programs but they all say the same! Im wantin to install a second hard drive (IDE) in my computer. Now there is already a SATA drive there with its own componants, I know what lead and power cable I need to put into the IDE cable cos there already there in me PC.<br /><br />But.. DVD session not closing ! Plz help..

I am having probs closing DVD sessions on my LG-GSA 4167B DVD burner.<br /><br />I tried Nero first but it gave an error and the system seems to freeze. I used Okoker CD/DVD burner to write . It worked perfectly but in the end, it freezes during the closing session time.<br /><br />Any tool to close the sessions on the DVD so that the files are visible in Windows Explorer and I dont have to use Isobuster ?<br /><br />I have tried burning on 4x speeds too , it still happens<br /><br />PC Specs : winxp sp2 , 512MB

i have my wireless router connected wit another computer that has brodband. the problem iz sometimes my internet speeds acts normal and i get like around 300kbps downloads and the pages load fast--but for the past two days it randomly acts up and the pages load really slow and i get around 10kbps downloads.
